THE NEWSLETTER OF
THE FILMMAKERS CONNECTION

The Wednesday, February 3, 2010 Filmmakers Connection Meeting will be held at 7:00 pm at Five Towns College, 305 North Service Road, Dix Hills, 11746 in room 303. The speakers will be:

Filmmaker - Scott Goldberg is an award-winning independent filmmaker from Long Island, New York. He is currently working on a film entitled "The Militia 15" which is about a local militia that is formed on Long Island in hopes to expose the lies of corrupt government and the lies of the mainstream media. His past film credits include "Mr. Mullen", "Loss of Hope" and various other independent films since 2003. He has worked with Friday the 13th Part III actor Paul Kratka on various film projects - after 23 years of not being in films Paul Kratka has decided to quit Chiropractic work to pursue an acting career again. His first film back was "The Day They Came Back", a 23-minute zombie film which was Scott Goldberg's first film out of college. Since then Scott has believed in moving more towards films that have something to say with a lot of deep texture and meaning: "I was making films the same way as everyone else and after noticing nothing was working for me as far as the advancement in my filmmaking - it was stale and boring. I met a few people down to road and we really talked about the heart and soul of filmmaking which was to create something to leave behind for the world rather than making a film that has the same generic storyline as many others films..." With this belief Scott has been working more on political and socially aware films in hopes to educate and entertain the audience. Scott is also working on a politically aware concept album which shows the power of the elite and how they pull the strings on majority of presidents with most of the general public being blinded to the truth. He will be fielding any questions you may have about the aspects of no-budget filmmaking. Not backed by a studio, Scott is making films with little to no budget, but with the ideals of creating something unique and different. He believes in not allowing oneself to fall into the trap of the Hollywood system and to not make films as they do but rather make films how you wish to while creating something new and different for the viewer to see and enjoy.

Co-speaking with Scott with be Keith McMahon, an actor who has worked on two films with Scott. He plays the lead role of a father, Don Hendricks who has lost his young son to vaccinations in the film "The Militia 15". He also plays United States Patriot Dennis Jennings in the film "Mr. Mullen".
