‘Bad Blood’ is an Experimental ‘performative documentary’ about director Jake Geiger’s struggle with a blood anomaly called TTP. The story starts with Jake developing a cyst, which leads to the doctors finding that there’s a problem with his blood. At first they think it’s AIDS and then they figure out that it’s TTP (Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura). The film’s purpose is to get the audience to experience what it’s like to go through TTP and understand how the director felt while incarcerated for 15 days with nothing to do but contemplate his own mortality. Harsh realism is juxtaposed with a hypersensitive world of poetry in order to both feel the cold actuality of the situation while still experiencing the perspective of the mental state of the director.

‘I forgot my name’ is a film that uses animation to confront the reality of the loss of self that occurs with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Forgetting where one puts things, others around them, where one is, lives, and ultimately oneself. How important are our surroundings? Are we dead when we forget everything? The driving motivation of this film is to confront the reality that may fall upon us through age and the loss of memory. The main character is an elderly woman who becomes lost in her own home. A Wyoming cowboy and his wife put up a friend from New York who wants to write about the area — but no one realizes how extreme the real story will become when she tries to take a character based on reality back with her across the eastern border. A curious drifter in an all-night café coaxes the story out of the cowboy, word by word, until neither can escape the truth of what’s happened. ‘There was this line she was gonna let me cross,’ says the cowboy in this mystery of American East and West. ‘She had somethin’ that was mine and she was takin’ it away. Sym-Tales is a 3D animation of telling stories inside stories. The goal of this project is to present a non-linear and multi-layered story in linear storytelling. As the title suggests, the story not only contains several stories but is itself also told to the audience. These Stories are happening at the same time but in different orders. A little girl in Sym-Tales is a metaphor of the reality which people live in. What if the so-called ‘reality’ is written as a story in other dimensions beyond human vision as the little girl’s life? This story tries to provide another way to consider the world and the status of existence. When the audience sees the story, they might be just in other Sym-Tales.
